Isaac Richardson |
This past 2011 summer I had the oppurtunity to participate in the Boeing intern program in Seattle, WA. I was able to apply the different teachings from industrial engineering that I'm learning at Morgan State University in the Commercial Aviation Services (CAS) lean office. There were two main projects that I was assigned to, and other smaller tasks to completed during the same time. The first project was completing a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on our current Spares warehouse stocking of parts. The second project, in which I was the project lead, applied Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) to improve our current conversion process for the 747 BCF. The knowledge and experiences that I have gained from this internship are invaluable and will help in my development in becoming a great engineer. Isaac Richardson |

It was a great internship that provided me with a challenging technical project and other beneficial assignments. In addition, I had to communicate my results to senior level employees. Also, I was given the chance to see different company sites and functions. With an overall understanding of the company, I felt a purpose in helping to achieve General Motor's vision. Ellwood Lane |

Leland Shelton |
As an intern in the Washington, DC office of Senator John Kerry this summer I learned a lot about the workings of our Congress. I was provided the opportunity to sit in on congressional hearings on foreign relations and briefings on SNAP benefits, Title IV and other welfare issues. I was able to craft memorandums to staffers, conduct research and submit a policy recommendation to a legislative assistant. The people that I met and the places that I visited in Washington made this a summer to remember. Leland Shelton |

Miles Carroll |
My summer internship at AAI Corporation was an invaluable experience. Working alongside experienced engineers and computer scientists on the A2PATS EW Simulator computer program was challenging, but also very rewarding. It was especially gratifying to know that our finished product will be implemented by the Company sometime in the future. The engineers I worked with were intelligent, supportive, and welcomed me with open arms. By the end of the internship, I learned a new programing language, gained real world experience, and had a better understanding of what engineers do on a daily basis. Miles Carroll |
