Hasson Diggs, Jr., MBA
Hasson Diggs, Jr. was born in Buffalo, NY and was the younger of two children. Hasson grew up in a loving home with hard-working parents who emphasized the importance of not giving excuses. From an early age, Hasson was a natural entrepreneur, owning his first lawn care business at the young age of 11. He possessed an innate knowledge for business that he continued to nurture as he grew older. To afford his family a better life and escape the limited opportunities in Buffalo, his father joined the United States Air Force when Hasson was in grade school. Due to his father’s military career, the family moved often, living in various places around the world, including New Mexico, Mississippi, and Guam. After graduating from high school, Hasson decided to embark on a career in the United States Army. Hasson proudly served his country for 4 years and received numerous commendations for leadership. Hasson also received the rank of Sergeant/E5 in just 38 months, no small feat by any measure.
Cerebral and meticulous in his work, Hasson was able to parlay the expertise and knowledge that he gained in the field of Telecommunications during his military duty to civilian life. Hasson worked for BellSouth Telecommunications in Atlanta, GA for several years before moving to the Baltimore area. Hasson was employed with various contracting agencies prior to accepting a position in Information Technology Project Management with the United States Department of Homeland Security, where he has exceled over the past 8 years. Hasson also continues to pursue several business ventures in his spare time.
Hasson belongs to the fraternal society of Prince Hall Masonry and is a proud member of Mt. Olive Lodge #25 in Baltimore, MD. As an active member, Hasson has led several community service initiatives with the lodge. Currently, he is also a member of Black Professional Men, Inc. – a non-profit organization that was established to address the social, economic, and political awareness needs of the African-American community; especially those of the African-American male.
