On December 29th 2103, BPM hosted over 90 attendees at the Annual Rays of Hope Scholars’ Dinner. The purpose of this dinner is to give scholarship hopefuls and their parents a chance to learn more about BPM and the commitment BPM makes to its scholarship awardees. Past Scholars, from the last 10 years, traveled from across the United States to attend and share their stories with the new scholar hopefuls. Parents beamed as they listened to the accomplishments of past scholars.
BPM Vice President, Rod Carter developed an incredible agenda, showcasing BPM, the accomplishments of past scholars and the success stories of the Mentorship Program. Rod Carter stressed the idea that it’s more than just a scholarship. It is a mentorship program that starts before college and continues throughout the scholar’s college career. Rod described that even after college, BPM helps scholars with networking and job searches.
BPM Founder, Edwin Avent interviewed some of the rising stars of our program, giving them a chance to share words of encouragement and advice to the prospective scholars and their parents.
The event’s Master of Ceremonies was BPM 2nd Vice President, Brian Olds.
